President Arroyo and House Speaker Jose de Venecia Jr. ends Cold War

Through the help of former President Fidel V. Ramos and Vice President Noli de Castro, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and the House Speaker Jose de Venecia Jr. was able to meet and end their cold war.

It was a closed door meeting in MalacaƱang where President Arroyo presided the emergency meeting of the National Security Council to assess the security implications of the Glorietta 2 explosion on Friday that injured a hundred and killed 11 people.

The meeting became an occasion for reconciliation.

To put an end to their rift, the two leaders agreed on a “joint vision” for executive-legislative reforms until 2010.
