After almost seven years in detention, former President Joseph “Erap” Ejercito-Estrada is finally a is finally a free citizen after the Sandiganbayan issued his release order.

Finally, the pardon documents was delivered by Interior Secretary Ronaldo Puno at around 3:41 p.m. to former President Joseph Ejercito-Estrada in his Tanay Resthouse.

In a press conference held this afternoon, Press Secretary Ignacio Bunye announced the early pardon granted by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to former president, Joseph Ejercito-Estrada.

Philippines’ Former President Joseph “Erap” Ejercito Estrada appealed to President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to grant him “full, free, and unconditional pardon.”
