Singer-composer Freddie Aguilar still won’t apologize to Charice Pempengco and Arnel Pineda of Journey Band for his opinion.
Aguilar made a controversial remark regarding the international singing sensation Charice Pempengco and Journey band’s lead singer Arnel Pineda whose choice of songs were not Filipino. But despite negative reactions and criticisms, he said he still won’t apologize.
“Bakit ako mag-a-apologize? I am speaking out the truth so why do I have to apologize? It’s my opinion and I am entitled to one. I am fighting for the truth”
The singer who is behind the worldwide hit “Anak,” is proving what international singer Mariah Carey had reportedly said about Filipinos (specifically Regine Velasquez) calling Filipinos like monkeys who mimic the styles and songs of other international artists. He said he was just asked about his opinion and he just gave his answer.
“Tingnan mo sina Bamboo, ang Kamikaze Band, si Rico Blanco. ‘Yang mga ‘yan, mapupuri mo, ipinaglalaban talaga nila ang Tagalog songs. Alam ko, kumakanta rin sila ng Ingles pero ipino-promote nila ang Filipino,”
