The half-Filipino Nicole Scherzinger of the American pop girl group Pussycat Dolls express her desire to sing the country’s national anthem in one of Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao’s fight in the boxing arena.
Like performers Lea Salonga and Charice, Scherzinger said that she is willing to sing the Lupang Hinirang and admitted that she is also a big fan of the Filipino boxing icon.
“[It] would be an honor to sing the national anthem. So, let’s make that happen!”
Scherzinger, along with other Pussycat Dolls –Kimberly Wyatt, Melody Thornton and Ashley Roberts, is in the Philippines for a one-night only concert. Jessica Sutta, who is also a member of the girl group, was not able to join the group because of her injury.
