Filipino filmmaker Dante Mendoza was Cannes’ best director

In the 62nd Cannes Film Festival last Sunday at Cannes, Southern France, Filipino filmmaker Brillante “Dante” Mendoza was hailed as the Best Director.

Mendoza won for his film “Kinatay” and he won over well-known and established filmmakers like Ang Lee, Pedro Almodovar, Jane Campion and Quentin Tarantino.
