A move to suspend the unlimited call and text messaging of Globe and Smart this holiday season was initiated by the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC).
This already took effect just last night (December 30), 11 o’clock in the evening, for Globe and Touch Mobile’s (TM) unlimited night calls up to 6 o’clock in the morning of January 1, 2009 while the Unlimited Night Calling Promo of Smart’s All Text Combo will not be available on December 30, 31 and January 1, 2009.
According to NTC, the move was undertaken to prevent network abuse during Christmas and New Year, the time when text messages and voice calls are expected to double.
Meanwhile, no report yet as of this moment regarding Sun cellular’s unlimited text and call if it will also be included in the suspension. So Sun subscribers can still enjoy the glory of having one while Globe and Smart’s promo are still suspended.
