In the 2008 State of the Nation Address (SONA) delivered by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, she stated that she talked to Telecommunications company regarding the SMS or Text Messaging rate from one peso to fifty centavo.
President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has announced that telecommunication networks have lowered their charge for short message service (SMS) to P.50 from P1.
In her State of the Nation Address Monday, the President said telecommunications firms have responded to her call to lower their SMS charges.
“Texting is a way of life. I asked the telecoms to cut the cost messages between networks. They have responded. It’s now down to 50 centavos,”
This may mean a rejoice to all texters or another thing is bound to happen after lowering the SMS charge. Let’s just wait and see.
