Woohoo! Got my Philippine Postal ID today. It just took me less than 4 hours to get my (hot from the laminating machine) ID.
I thought there will be a lot of requirements needed because according to different sites/ blogs the post office employees were asking a lot of legal documents and ID for a proof and days to release their ID.
Anyway, they only asked for my Community Tax Certificate (CTC) number or Cedula, Barangay Clearance, 2 pieces of 2×2 pictures, and 240 pesosesoses (which includes processing, lamination, the card itself, notary and documentary stamp).
The lady asked me if I’m in a hurry and showed me the pending cards she have to do and she haven’t taken her lunch yet. So she told me to be back by 4 P.M. for my signature and the release of the ID. (You can get your Postal ID less than an hour if the post office employee is very industrious).
There have been some errors on my ID. I indicate that the color of my eyes is brown, she typed BLACK, height punctuation for feet is ” and ” also for inches, and my birth place’ spelling were also incorrect. I informed her of the corrections but she didn’t mind me, she just laminated my ID as soon as I gave it back to her.
Anyway, what is important is that I already have my effing postal ID.
DID YOU KNOW?
The Philippine Postal Identification Card (ID) is honored by banks and other financial institutions (example: Western Union) as proof of identity.

errors?? wouldn’t that affect the validity of it if there are errors in your id.. how can that still be considered a valid id if the information is incorrect. i mean typo- errors you may say but then again.. eye color and birthplace? that’s weird.. i don’t think i’d be satisfied with having an id for less than 4 hours and yet the id itself is erroneous.. i don’t know..
