Hana Kimi on ABS-CBN

Hana Kimi is a Taiwanese TV drama series which is soon to be aired in ABS-CBN. This is a high school romance comedy based on on the popular manga of the same name by Nakajo Hisaya.

This stars Ella Chen of an all female singing group, S.H.E. with Wu Chun and Jiro Wang of Fahrenheit.

This was said to be like the famous Coffee Prince which is still showing on GMA-7. But according to ABS-CBN, this was the original since it was based on the popular Japanese anime to begin with.

The Plot:

Three years prior, a girl named Lu Rui Xi (Ella Chen) saw high jumper Zuo Yi Quan (Wu Chun) on television and was inspired by him. She decides to transfer to his school, Y.K. (Ying Kai), and become his friend, even though the particular school he attends which is strictly boys-only. So Rui Xi disguises herself as a boy. After a shaky start, including a rude collision with Quan outside of the classroom, Rui Xi is able to settle in at the school. By a stroke of luck, she has been assigned to be Quan’s room mate.

Soon, she is accepted as a normal student, but after sustaining an injury to the head, her gender is discovered by Mei Tian - the gay school health official - and Quan (whom she does not realize knows her secret). Mei Tian becomes her confidant, but Quan keeps Rui Xi’s secret to himself in order to protect her identity and keep her by his side. Jin Xiu Yi (Jiro Wang) begins to question his own sexuality when he finds himself attracted to this new student, whom he believes to be male.

They all become great friends and overcome many obstacles along the way, such as the interschool competition where Rui Xi was harassed by fellow students in the No. 1 dormitory, Xiu Yi’s accusation of cheating and several other times when Rui Xi’s identity was at stake. The main couple, Rui Xi and Quan, fall deeper into love without noticing over the course of the series.

HSM3: pang-daytime yata ito (hapon) hindi pang-primetime. Iba yun sa GMA (kung meron man o baka coffee prince ang sinsabi mo or Hana Yori Dango, iba yun) may ibang version nito eh.

hi mga hana kimi fans, alam nyo no offense ha, how come abs-cbn stated than their hana kimi was the orig, kung gagamit ka ng logic, HANA KIMI are JAPANESE words, and based yun sa JAPANESE MANGA so basically, GMA 7 got the JAPANESE version which is also based from JAPANESE MANGA itself. sorry talaga pero nagmumukhang tanga lang yung ginagawa ng ABS sa ginawa nilang THE ORIGINAL, pwede nilang sabihin na mas nauna yung TAIWAN version sa JAPANESE version live-action like sa METEOR GARDEN against sa HANA YORI DANGO, kasi dati nung nagkaron sila ng anime na HANA YORI DANGO, sinabi din nila na ANG ORIG METEOR GARDEN pero ngayon gusto nilang claim na yung TAWAIN version of HANA KIMI ang ORIG, hehe… walang sense, kung may logically speaking you’ll get my point…

Hello people are you burried sa kalokohan ng gma…. Hanakimi is a “JAPANESE” mangga na hinangaan ng asia noon… it so happens na ang unang nakabili ng tv rites nito ay ang taiwan which made the phenomenal Hanakimi (TAIWAN) na pinagkaguluhan sa asya.’

The Taiwan version offered the original mangga story while the Japanese hanakimi devoured the whole and added misleading scenes that wasnt apart of the original mangga.

Hanakimi Taiwan which is the original series of the mangga registered doubled rating of 28-30% unlike the rip off of japan that registered on 15-18 of their time being.

i hope the moderator aint editing these things coz if he did then the site doesnt have the credibility of truth for it is either bias to one side or not.

the jap version is trying hard to make laugh the viewers but it became exaggerated…

I’m excited I’ve watched the Japanese version and read the manga. But I’m kind of worried with how Ella will play the role since I love Horikita Maki (played Ella’s role in Japanese vr.)

And to those who were saying that this is NOT the original HanaKimi, yes. Di nga ito. Yung manga yung original :)) And this version came out first, as in… 2006 pa ata? So di nyo masasabi na di sya original. And the ratings I think are based on different things. Di pa ba tayo natuto sa AGB-Nielsen thing? D: Don’t rely on ratings alone D:

TEAM KAPAMILYA ganda talaga ng Hana Kimi, the last asian drama that I really watched on ABS-CBN was ISWAK or It started with a kiss which is a TAIWANESE drama too, parehas kwela hahahah….

ya right , season 2 for hanakimi please the taiwanese version because i love the cast especially the 2 main cast wu zun and ella they are sweet with each other onscreen and offscreen they make bulungbulungan nakakakilig!!!!plsssssssss. season 2. i am finish watching for the whole show in youtube the english subbed i am telling u the whole part is so funny and nakakakilig super, well except lang sa end kasi nakakabitin. u will say tlaga na u want more kaya lets support the campaign sequel for hanakimi……tnx

ABS CBN is only saying its the original version mainly because we’re talking about original adaptation here… Taiwan made the first move to produce, air, and popularize hana kimi to the viewing majority (let’s admit the fact that not everyone reads manga); and that’s regardless where they got the story from, whether it’s from a japanese manga or just some english/filipino comic book- it shouldn’t matter. i mean, look around you- there are a lot of films adapted from books or novels (esp in US) but those films weren’t tagged as copycats bec creating live action flicks adapted from comic books (or any published written story for that matter) is still considered original in the sense that they were the first to make a movie out of that story. Making a film and publishing a written story (e.g. comic books, novels etc) are totally 2 diff things. If someone tries to publish the same story out of a previously published book (or create a diff version for that matter), now that’s what you consider copying, same goes with creating a film/ drama; if someone tries to make a new version out of a previously created film, that- you can consider the 2nd version and DEFINITELY NOT the original.
In general, it doesnt necessarily mean that bec the story was adapted from a japanese manga, the Hana Kimi version aired by FujiTV japan was the original version (its obvious where they got this logic from- its bec the manga is japan made). Let’s not forget the fact that the MAIN reason Fuji TV japan did their own version was bec the HANA Kimi produced and first aired by CTS and GTV Taiwan has gotten so popular and the ratings for HanaKimi were so high that television channels in Japan and South Korea dished out over 30,000,000 NTD for the rights to broadcast the drama (cite referencedOtcom). Now, that fact alone only proves that Japan’s Hana Kimi (tv drama) is not the original drama version…
Well, if by any chance (this is only a hypothetical example)- Taiwan decides to publish their own HanaKimi comic book or “manga”, that is clearly copying bec Japan already had it first ages ago; and i would definitely side japan by then if that happens.

Hope everyone now understands why Taiwan’s drama version is considered the original.

Both dramas were adapted from the japanese manga. However, taiwan first aired, produced and popularized Hana Kimi through television for the majority. We must admit, not everbody reads manga, but everbody watches tv… Japan, however seems to copy taiwan\’s move; e.g. Meteor Garden, Hana Kimi. If taiwan was able to create a great success and a massive follower out of that drama, japan on the other hand will make its own version. i mean, isn\’t that kinda annoying? And to those saying japan\’s actors are better looking than taiwan\’s? - for the record, Japan\’s F4 failed in comparison to the F4 that created phenomenon all over Asia. they\’re good looking alright, but aren\’t as good looking as taiwan\’s F4; plus, they lack star appeal. I\’ve seen Hana Yori Dango 1&2, and their F4 actors seem to look funny with the characters they\’re portraying- they just dont fit…. Matsumoto Jun a.k.a Doumyouji Tsukasa seems so small and girly looking- isn\’t the character of Doumyouji supposed to be stern, tall, has cold and cruel exterior? i dunno, Matsumoto Jun should\’ve played Hanazawa Rui\’s role instead…. Anyhow, Wu Zun who portrayed Hana Kimi\’s lead male role is even far better looking than Shun Oguri of Hanazakari no Kimitachi e…. i love japanese originally produced (not the remake ones) dramas but they aren\’t as popular and as successful in Asia compared to taiwanese and koreans. They should refrain from doing remakes and try to popularize dramas which are produced originally by them. Japan, on the contrary is really excellent is making scary movies, and i totally admire them for that ….

ABS CBN will air the Taiwanese version of Hana Kimi which was first broadcasted in 2006, while GMA will air the Japanese version Hanazakari no Kimitachi e which was first broadcasted in 2007; both dramas were adapted from the Japanese manga. Taiwan has produced this drama in 2006, starring Ella Chen and Wu Chun etc. and achieved great ratings; and because of its popularity and success, Fujitv was prompted to make the Japanese version as well… Frankly, i like the Taiwanese version better as it is funnier and “kakakilig”, as well as the story line is much closer to the manga series compared to the japanese version which totally was way different than the manga….. Well, I’m just glad that ABS has the taiwanese version, i know they’ll do a very good job when it comes to dubbing this drama (well, as always). GMA on the other hand is just awful when it comes to dubbing, i mean aside from the fact that it lacks timing, the voices always doesnt fit the characters! i hated it when they re- broadcasted Meteor Garden- what have they done??? their dubbers can’t even pronounce Dao Ming Si’s name properly! and Shan Cai’s and Qinghe’s dubbed were just terrible. They made Shan Cai sound like a big girl, urgh!the voices sounded so different from the characters. Compared to ABS’s dubbing that it totally reflects and very similar to the voices of the original actors…. People are always saying ABS always follows GMA. i mean, come on! Who initially aired Meteor Garden? isn’t it because of the popularity of Meteor Garden that GMA bombarded their airtime with other Asian dramas? they wanted to get the impact Meteor Garden has done to the Filipino masses, that’s why they did that sillyness. they even re-aired Meteor Garden 5yrs later! and now that ABS is airing the Taiwanese Version (who is btw, the original drama version), now Ch. 7 on the contrary would air the Japanese one??? funny, they’re such a copy cat! with a dubbing that totally sucks- gee, GMA is way sub- par!

i saw hana kimi this morning and noticed that when Dr. Mei Tian further introduced his family relationship with Tristan to Joey, he said “kapatid ng ate ko”.Can’t exactly remember the words his using but I’m sure that what he said was something like that. And I’m sure too that it was a mistake.

Wasn’t he supposed to say “Anak ng ate ko”? Tristan calls him Uncle so obviously Tristan is his sister’s son and not “kapatid”.

No offence but honestly,to say that the Japanese version is exaggerated in comparison to the Taiwanese version is really stupid. Only those we went ga-gah over Meteor Garden wud say that. Tasteless and tacky…and seriously u say bla bla bla the taiwanese garnered double the rating so what…its timeslot during the time wasnt against the best tai drama for that matter unlike in Japan where its fuji tv vs ntv vs nhk and so on so of course since there are tons of choices the rating wudve seem lower.

taiwanese version is the one that’s overexaggerated and annoying.If u guys like this version u dont have to diss the other…but as for which is original or not. the story is based on a J-manga therefore its japanese.who did it first sure the taiwanese because unlike the J drama world,they have brilliant writters who can come up with tons and tons of great series unlike the taiwanese that kept on buying the rights to remake japanese mangas…think about it…from ISWAK,Meteor G,Hana Kimi,ROmantic Princess arent these the only ones that garned supposed high ratings? all of em based on J-manga. geez..this is really sad people are so baduy
