It was March of 2005 when Jardine Davies started a blog aiming to resurrect a dying art form, the TANAGA.
According to Wikipedia, The Tanaga is a type of short Filipino poem, consisting of four lines with seven syllables each with the same rhyme at the end of each line — that is to say a 7-7-7-7 Syllabic verse, with an AAAA rhyme scheme.
I myself contributed about two (2) tanagas and it feels good to be able to compose a very simple but symbolic and meaningful short poem.
The Buhayin ang Tanaga is still up but no recent update since November 2006.
If you would like to read original tanaga visit, Buhayin ang Tanaga or if you’re interested of contributing a tanaga, you may submit your composition to: tanaga@gmail.com.
Mabuhay ang Tanaga!
