Betty La Fea which is also known as “Ugly Betty” was an original Columbian popular telenovela which already has a lot of versions made in other countries.
Betty La Fea role was originally played by Ana María Orozco as Beatriz Aurora “Betty” Pinzón Solan, an unattractive but intelligent woman working for a fashion design company called Eco Moda and later became a typical ugly duckling turned to a lovely swan.
Here in the Philippines, the role seems to be in demand since the Asia’s Songbird was very much interested that she risked her job just to get the said role.
ABS-CBN channel 2 was able to get the right to do a Filipino version of the said telenovela.
Other stars who were being considered to take the role are Valerie Concepcion, Anne Curtis, Bea Alonzo, and Angel Locsin.
According to Valerie being one of the so many artists of ABS-CN who were being considered for this role is an honor.
