Regine Velasquez bids goodbye to GMA-7

It has been a long time since a rumor spread that the Asia’s Songbird will transfer to ABS-CBN after being offered by a 25 Million peso talent fee to do shows with the Kapamilya network.

Today, The Buzz had an exclusive interview with Regine Velasquez and cleared things regarding the issue.

Regine confirmed that she and her friends at SOP were crying because it was her last show with them and she denied the issue that she was offered by ABS-CBN with 25 Million.

According to her, she was not pirated by the Kapamilya network. It was just that she wanted to do a certain project, Betty La Fea, little did she know that time that the right was sold already to ABS-CBN. She already mentioned it to a staff that she is interested on doing the role so ABS-CBN talked to her and offered Betty La Fea.

Regine says that she still has  a show with GMA-7 to be shown on August and a movie with her boyfriend Ogie Alcasid under GMA Films.

According to Regine, she don’t have an existing contract with GMA-7 but she asked permission before deciding to accept the offer from ABS-CBN channel 2 for the project, Betty La Fea. She also cleared that she didn’t use this to leverage with the Kapuso Network.

Regine expressed that she was a bit hurt with the statement shown on a VTR aired at the Buzz where ABS-CBN denied that they first offered the project to Regine but instead she send a “feeler” and that is when she was offered of the role and did not offered a 25 Million worth of talent fee. She risked her job just for the said show because she really wanted it and said that she also wanted to work with other actors/actress and staff of ABS-CBN.

Boy Abunda, host of the Buzz tried to clear what the VTR means to appease the singer and said that ABS-CBN is just sensitive with the issue of piracy with the artists from the other network but regarding the show, he said that he has no idea about it.

Now, the Asia’s Songbird confirmed that she is unemployed as of this time since she is neither an artist of any network.

Regarding the Betty La Fea project where she was very much interested, there’s no contract being signed yet by both parties and still in negotiation.
