According to Boyet Jadulco of Abante, Senate Minority Leader Aquilino Pimentel, Jr. yesterday warned the producer of Sakal, Sakali, Saklolo for using an ethnic slur on the said movie starring Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo.

According to Senator Pimentel, it is a big insult to Filipinos who can’t speak in Tagalog.
“It offends the sensibilities of the Visayans and other non-Tagalog speaking citizens by making them feel as if they are less Filipino than the Tagalogs. It creates useless hatred in the nation” says Pimentel.
The senator is appealing to Star Cinema to make necessary changes to the said part of the movie. He even expressed his dismay towards the Movie and Television Review Classification Board (MTRCB) for not doing their job of reviewing well the scenes in the movie.
This is another issue of insult to Filipinos specifically to the Visayan-speaking communities. How would they react to this matter? Will this affect the ranking of Sakal Sakali Saklolo? Should we be very sensitive to the lines delivered in a movie?

If the entire Filipino nation made a big fuss about the racial slur on Filipinos on Desperate Housewives, then, the very same group should be indignant on this outright insult to all non-Tagalog Filipinos!
BIGOTRY is never a joking matter!
