The traditional Parade of Stars officially started the 2007 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) last December 24 from Pasay City to Manila.
This year’s route was shorter than last year to save time and avoid traffic and other unnecessary hassle. The parade started from SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City.
Sequence of floats were: Desperadas, Enteng Kabisote 4, Resiklo, Sakal Sakali Saklolo, Anak ng Kumander, Bahay Kubo, Banal, Katas ng Saudi, and Shake, Rattle and Roll 9.
The majestic float of Resiklo which is somewhat like a Transformers concept won the best float with a corresponding cash prize of P500,000. Saka, Sakali, Saklolo was recognized as the runner-up with a cash prize worth P300,000 while Bahay Kubo placed third with a cash prize of P100,000.
The parade ended at the Quirino Grandstand which is followed by a short program where the participants of the said parade were presented. Program was hosted by Archie Alemania, Asia Agcaoili, Smokey Manaloto, and Say Alonzo
The MMFF Board adjusted the date of the awarding to give time to film producers to collect and account their revenues and avoid confusion in making blockbuster claims which happened last year. The scheduled awarding will be on January 5, 2008. Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman Bayani Fernando serves as the MMFF committee chairman.
