Explosion on Batasan Pambansa Killed 3 persons and Injured 11 other people

A deadly blast shook the Batasan Pambasa complex in Quezon City at 8:15 in the evening on Tuesday.

The explosion took place on the south wing entrance of the House of Representatives building that killed 3 persons. They are Marcial Taldo, driver of Gabriela Rep. Luzviminda Ilagan who died on the spot, Maan Gale Abustanillo, staff member of Negros Oriental Rep. Pryde Henry Teves who died while being treated in the hospital and Basilan Rep. Wahab Akbar who sustained fractured forehead, jaw and lower leg. Rep. Akbar died at 10:20 p.m. at FEU-NRMF Medical Center in Fairview, Quezon City.

Other blast victims were Gabriela Rep. Luzviminda Ilagan, Negros Oriental Rep. Pryde Henry Teves, Ismael Lim, driver of Gabriela Rep. Liza Maza; Timar Kindanan, bodyguard of Akbar; Percy Garcia, a staff member of Teves; Dennis Manila, an aide of Teves; Larry Noda, a House administrative assistant; Rodolfo Relente; Frederick del Castillo; Nikki Ayadoni; and Allan Mangulabnan.

Meanwhile, despite of the chaos caused by the explosion, Speaker Jose De Venecia said that the House will resume its session on Wednesday.
