In a press conference held this afternoon, Press Secretary Ignacio Bunye announced the early pardon granted by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to former president, Joseph Ejercito-Estrada.
The 70-year old deposed leader was sentenced to life in prison by the Sandiganbayan anti-graft court on September 12 for Plunder.
On October 23, Estrada’s defense panel decided to withdraw their motion for reconsideration and appealed to President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
