Erap Signs Pardon Documents in Tanay Resthouse

Finally, the pardon documents was delivered by Interior Secretary Ronaldo Puno at around 3:41 p.m. to former President Joseph Ejercito-Estrada in his Tanay Resthouse.

Erap and his lawyers were expecting for the said documents as early as 9 a.m. in Tanay.

According to Secretary Puno, the delay was caused by the concerns raised by the Sandiganbayan about the forfeiture aspect of the pardon order and MalacaƱang had to make some clarifications and corrections on the documents. Eventually, concerns were solved.

The Sandiganbayan would have to issue a release order before the police deliver Estrada to his residence in San Juan City.
